What Our Pink Slip Inspection Covers
A pink slip confirms that a registered vehicle meets the required NSW safety standards. The inspection covers the vehicle’s main safety-related components, including tyres, brakes, lights, steering, suspension and structural condition.
If the vehicle passes, the inspection result is submitted electronically to Transport for NSW. If repairs are required, our team will explain the items that need attention and the timeframe for returning for reinspection.
How long does a pink slip last?
A pink slip (eSafety check) report is valid for six months from the date it is issued. Most light vehicles in NSW that are more than five years old require a pink slip before registration can be renewed. When the vehicle passes, the authorised inspection station sends the report electronically to Transport for NSW.
If the vehicle fails, you will receive a Repairs Needed report. The required repairs and reinspection must be completed within 14 days. When the vehicle is returned to the same authorised inspection station within that period, there is no additional inspection fee.
